Woodley Park features 20th-century-style row houses, a diverse restaurant scene, and some great entertainment options, though Woodley Park wouldn’t be mistaken for overly lively. It’s quiet by nature, with a small and friendly community that is very welcoming.

Some History

Woodley Park is named after the Woodley House. The property was built by the uncle of Francis Scott Key in 1801.

This house was home to many prominent figures such as Presidents Grover Cleveland and Martin Van Buren and is still standing today.

Woodley Park Neighborhood

Woodley Park DC is a small, quaint neighborhood in close proximity to excellent restaurants and entertainment options without having to be right in the middle of things.

Woodley Park has tasty restaurants and enticing entertainment options, but one of the primary appeals is the nature that surrounds the neighborhood.

The neighborhood also features the National Zoo, and right nearby is Rock Creek Park, a great trail to hike or ride your bike and really get away from the hectic city life.    

Location

Woodley Park is located in Northwest Washington DC. The National Zoo and Rock Creek Park sit on the east end of the neighborhood. Woodley Park is bordered by Cleveland Park to the north and Kalorama to the South.

 

Transportation

 

Woodley Park is serviced by the Washington Metro with the Woodley-Park/Zoo station on the Red Line. The DC Circulator also has a route in Woodley Park, operating between Woodley Park, McPherson Square, and Adams Morgan.
