Penn Quarter DC
Penn Quarter is a neighborhood north of Pennsylvania Avenue in downtown Washington DC that is often considered to overlap with Chinatown. As the name suggests, Chinatown was once the home to many Chinese immigrants; it still features many authentic Asian restaurants in addition to museums, the Capital One Arena, and much more entertainment.
Home Styles Available
Penn Quarter is primarily composed of condos, apartment buildings, and single-family homes.
The Penn Quarter neighborhood was developed as part of the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation’s redevelopment plan in 1972.
New buildings, shops, restaurants, and more were renovated and built around the area to create what we now call Penn Quarter. One of the crowning moments for Penn Quarter was the opening of what’s now known as Capital One Arena in 1997; since then, the neighborhood has grown dramatically.
