NoMa DC

NoMa DC gets its name from its location of North of Massachusetts Avenue.

NoMa is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in all of Washington, DC and features many great new entertainment options, historical landmarks and cool spots to spend a day like at Union Market.

NoMa is a continually developing neighborhood comprised of primarily apartment buildings with some classic rowhouses as well.

Some History

NoMa, once a distressed neighborhood, welcomed investment into the area and really has and continues to develop the area into both a transportation and entertainment hub.

In 2004, what is now known as the NoMa-Gallaudet U Station was opened and is what kicked off the rapid development and growth that the area has been and continues to see.

NoMa Neighborhood

NoMa was once an industrial area that continues to develop and use that industrial space for cool new things like one of the many distilleries that have opened around the neighborhood.

New restaurants and small shops continue to pop up around the area as foot traffic continuously increases.

The area is serviced by all of the transportation option that you could need and that is just one of the many reasons NoMa has become such a popular destination.

Location

NoMa, as the name alludes to, is short for North of Massachusetts Avenue. NoMa sits roughly two miles east of the White house.

 

Transportation

 

NoMa is a very well-connected neighborhood, specifically NoMa is home to two redline stations on the Washington Metro, many bus lines and ride share services such as Capital Bikeshare, a DC bike sharing service that allows you to rent a bike whenever you need.
