Downtown DC is located in Northwest region of the district.  Downtown is bordered by the white house and sits less than half a mile away from the Federal Office.

Downtown Washington DC is primarily commercial and many of the, albeit few, residential units available reside in CityCenterDC, a development that added a few apartment buildings into the area.

Some Background 

As it stands, Downtown Washington DC is significantly more commercial than it is residential.

While in its current state there aren’t an abundance living options, there has been a push to make downtown more livable. Despite this, Downtown is still a great place to spend a day and offers a buzzing restaurant and bar scene and some interesting museums among many other things.

The Downtown Neighborhood

Downtown DC is one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the city. The area is home to tons of great restaurants, entertainment options, and fittingly to Washington DC, some history at places like the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Downtown is an overall great place to spend a day, whether it be to meet friends for dinner or catching a show at a music venue.

Location

Downtown is located just north of the White House and is in the northwest quadrant of Washington, DC. Downtown is bordered by Georgetown to its west and Dupont Circle and Shaw to its north.

 

Transportation

 

Downtown is serviced by the Metro Center station that is one of the busines stations in all of DC. The location of Downtown makes for the city to be very walkable, but there is a variety of transportation options around the area if needed.
