Capitol Riverfront is a Business Improvement District (BID). Residents of BIDs pay an additional tax to fund various projects around the area — anything from cleaning graffiti off walls to making cosmetic improvements around the neighborhood.

Capitol Riverfront Neighborhood

The Capitol Riverfront neighborhood for years was occupied by the Washington Navy Yard, which helped the area establish itself. These days, Capitol Riverfront is growing rapidly into an entertainment hub and an enticing place to live. Each year, more and more apartment buildings are being built, restaurants are being opened, and residents are moving in. Capitol Riverfront is a great place to live and is continually getting better.

Capitol Riverfront DC is located south of the Capitol Building and north of the Anacostia River. Sitting along the Anacostia River provides a ton of waterfront activities while still being in close proximity to downtown DC and all of its entertainment options.

 

Transportation

 

The Capitol Riverfront neighborhood has access to the Washington Metro through two stations that are nearby, the Capitol South Station and the Navy Yard-Ballpark Station.
