While serving as George Washington’s secretary of state in 1793, Thomas Jefferson named Capitol Hill. With such a strong association with the US government, Capitol Hill is a historic center with many landmarks and a character all its own.

Bring your car or leverage the bus or Metro stations to easily navigate around DC. There are three Metro stops within walking distance:

Capitol South — First Street between C and D Streets, SE
Federal Center, SW — Southwest corner of Third and D Streets, SW
Union Station — First Street, NW, and Massachusetts Avenue
