Foggy Bottom DC

Located to the west of the White House and downtown Washington, Foggy Bottom DC is a government and cultural hub. Housing the US Department of State, riverside Kennedy Center, and the National Symphony Orchestra, it has no shortage of landmarks.

The neighborhood, powered by an industrial economy, takes its name from the fog and industrial smoke that covered the city during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The city is dominated by large multi-unit condominiums, apartments, and co-ops. 

 

Foggy Bottom Neighborhood

The neighborhood features a mix of college students, as it’s just outside of Georgetown University; politicos, as it’s home to the US Department of State; and artistic types, with the Kennedy Center and the Lisner Auditorium nearby. Dining options range from upscale restaurants to local pubs and eateries popular with university students. 

With residential investors purchasing property within the area, it’s a great place for young professionals to rent or investors looking to locate to the area.

Located to the west of the White House and downtown Washington, Foggy Bottom DC is outlined north by K St. NW and Pennsylvania Ave. NW, east by 17th St. NW, south by Constitution Ave. NW, and west by Rock Creek Parkway. 

Transportation

Navigating your way through the city is easy, as you have access to the Foggy Bottom Metro station, plus the option of a car.
